Baby Blanket
Blue, purple, brown and blue-
Long enough for my arms,
And soft as a flannel ought to be.
I left you in the park,
In my swim bag,
Upon our sledding hill.
I was distracted by our jump,
The broken fallen branch,
And the perfect first kiss.
You were my favorite thing to wear-
So I was sad, when I searched,
To find you stolen.
But who can blame the thief?
It was time for you to go.
So I shed my skin,
Farewell to my baby blanket.
