My favorite part of winter is the snow. I love how it looks, and the cozy feeling it creates. I love looking at the powdered mountains, and thinking of skiing. I like how in the morning I wake up to fluffy whiteness everywhere. I reminds me of halcyon days of youth and enjoyment. It reminds me that even though I’m sad, snowflakes still exist. The storm inside doesn’t mean I haven’t seen peaceful summer days. Just because I feel alone now doesn’t mean I have never been loved. The beautiful blue shadows on the white golden snowy mountains were there yesterday, they’re here this morning, and they’ll be here tomorrow; even if I was happier then than I am now. People still smile when I can’t. My favorite books have still been written. My favorite songs are still sung. And certainly there are others out there for me to one day love. Just because my eyes are wet and red now doesn’t mean that’s how they’ll always look. Because I can remember back to when they were green and brown, and bright. Life goes on. I guess tears just make it harder to see ahead clearly sometimes.
